Changes At-a-Glance SMH will:
- Add 2,630 sq. ft. to the clinic space
- Renovate 12,180 sq. ft. of the existing clinic
- Undergo a 3,424 sq. ft. renovation of the cafeteria and kitchen
- Add a 1,568 sq. ft. three-story elevator and loading dock
Shelby Memorial Hospital is pleased to share details surrounding our facility modernization project, as well as some of the exciting initiatives we’re working on to enhance our customer service and your experience when you visit SMH.
The Board of Directors and the Leadership Team at SMH recognize how important it is to continually improve the delivery and access to care close to home. The current modernization project is focused on the total renovation and expansion of our medical office building, relocation and modernization of our dietary department, and we will also increase the number of spaces available for patient and public parking.
Please pardon our dust during this time and be aware of the some of the temporary changes to the SMH campus during construction.
There are now mobile physician offices located in the parking area south of the hospital. The mobile offices are well equipped and very accessible. Patient’s who see their physician or primary care provider at the Medical Office Building on Cedar Street will temporarily be seen in the mobile units.
The medical office project is expected to be complete by October of 2011 with the dietary department changes set to be complete by the end of December, 2011.
