Team Update

Hello SMH Team!

We’ve hit the ground running and it’s actually hard to believe how much progress we’ve made since the start of the year. Some milestones to be proud of…

1)         The Remodeling Project – The construction is well underway and while there are some inconveniences associated with a project of this scope, I want to thank you for your continued patience as we watch our campus transform from colorful artist’s renderings to the very real and very new medical office building.  Please continue to use caution around the campus in construction areas and be sure to let friends, families and our guests know that the project is on schedule. Soon, we will be able to enjoy renovated clinic space, a new cafeteria and kitchen.

2)         Meaningful Use - We have much to celebrate and I want to give a special thanks to Phil Miller, Bryan Bender and Meredith Barnes for their unwavering commitment to help SMH achieve Meaningful Use and the objectives set for Stage One. In addition a huge thanks to the  med surg, rural health and registration staff along with the physicians. For their efforts, and for all of those who have been patient through the often times difficult and challenging process, we thank you.  It is because we worked together as a team that we were able to receive $1.6 million in incentive payments.  The funds have been reinvested into our organization. Stay tuned to our Meaningful Use progress.

3)         Commitment to Excellence Promise – It goes without saying that our new “Promise of Excellence” is something we can all be proud of.  Together, all SMH team members signed a document that outlines our new standards for behavior, care of customer, communication and personal conduct.

The core principles of the Commitment to Excellence Promise are:

            CARE of CUSTOMERS

I promise to serve others with courteousness, appreciation, respect and empathy.

PERSONAL ATTITUDE & PROFESSIONAL APPEARANCE

I promise to project a positive attitude helping to create a positive work atmosphere and experience.

SAFETY & FACILITY

I promise to always maintain a safe, clean and accident-free environment.

COMMUNICATION

I promise to be impeccable when I speak, listen and interact with customers and team members.

COMMITMENT TO MY SMH TEAM

I promise that my fellow team members can rely on me to accomplish the SMH mission

for excellence.

Thank you again for your commitment to excellence in patient care and service, and keep the great ideas coming on how we can make our excellence come to life at SMH.

Sincerely,

Marilyn Sears

Chief Executive Officer

P.S.   Don’t forget to smile, look people in the eye and do your very best to help and support those who come to us in need.
