Executive Team

Marilyn Sears

CEO

Marilyn was born at Shelby Memorial Hospital, raised in the surrounding community and has spent 20 of her 21 years at SMH as Chief Financial Officer. A Certified Public Accountant, Marilyn spent 10 years prior to working at SMH as an auditor specializing in health care. Shelby Memorial Hospital was not only a client, but one of Marilyn's favorites because of the friendly and caring staff. When I was offered the job as CEO, I did not think twice about it because I knew I would enjoy working with everyone. I have never once doubted my decision to join the staff at SMH.

Regina Calvert, RN, BSN

Chief Nursing Executive

Shelby Memorial Hospital truly gave Regina her start in her nursing career. She was a recipient of a nursing education scholarship from SMH which allowed her to pay for her education by working at SMH after graduation. She graduated from St. John's Nursing School in Springfield, IL and Southern Illinois University of Edwardsville and following graduation started as a SMH staff nurse on the medical units. She advanced to work in the Emergency Department, House Supervisor role, Med-Surg Manager, Outpatient Nursing Services Manager, and Diabetes Educator throughout her 26 years with the hospital. In 2007, with the encouragement of her husband and parents, she took over the role as Chief Nursing Executive. Regina said she is privileged to have worked with so many wonderful people, whom she lovingly calls her hospital family. Born and raised in Shelby County, SMH truly is Regina's hospital. I am proud to work here and will continue to assist in providing excellent healthcare to our community.
